Holidays with your dog in the Dolomites

Four legs, lots of hair and a big heart

He's our best friend, with his two big eyes that melt our hearts. No-one else has such a special place in our affections. Yes, that's him: our dog, a much-loved hairy member of the family. What would holidays be like without him? We too love these delightful creatures, and so dogs are always welcome at our hotel in the Dolomites!

A holiday with your dog

Your dog is welcome in any type of room. He can also join you on the large sun terrace (but the Aperol spritz is just for masters and owners ;-), in the bar and lounge area and in our Jägerstube (hunter's bar) with Swiss pine panelling.

On request, we will be happy to set aside a special table for you, so that your faithful friend can accompany you to meals instead of sitting alone in your room.

All our extras for four-legged friends

our dog is very welcome here and will certainly feel just as comfortable as you do at the Sonnenhotel Adler. There is always something new to discover, both for your dog and for you.

Especially for your dog:

  • A own sunbathing lawn with scenic view of the Dolomites
  • A village map with hiking and walking paths directly from the hotel
  • There are lots of hiking trails and paths all around the Sonnenhotel Adler
  • A dog toilet with dog bags at the hotel
  • A fridge in the room for dog food (except Adler Dependance)
  • Exciting activity programme with guided hikes. Your dog is welcome to join you.
  • The high plateau of the Villanderer Alm, a nature reserve with panoramic views of the Dolomites, is ideal for hiking with your dog

Wow, what a view!

Whether you want to walk between mountain huts or climb to the top of a peak with your dog, you'll find lots of detailed maps and useful tips at the reception desk of our dog-friendly hotel in South Tyrol. In particular, the plateau of the Villandro Alp is a perfect place for hiking with your dog.

Our suggestions:

  • Hike through the forest to the lovely chapel of Sant'Anna
  • Circular hike to San Maurizio (it also takes you past a waterfall)
  • Chestnut trail through the Isarco Valley (62 km long; it goes right past our two hotels)
  • Hike to the Three Churches (through the forest, to escape the summer heat)
  • From Villandro to Sabiona (South Tyrol's sacred mountain)
  • Hike up to the plateau of the Villanderer Alm/ Villandro Alp, the second largest in Europe
